Taiwan extends a helping hand
After the earthquake in Kahramanmaras, the world mobilized for Türkiye. A helping hand was also extended from Taiwan. Taiwan leader Tsai Ing-wen and senior government officials announced that they will donate their salary to support disaster relief efforts. They stated that Türkiye was the first country to help them in the Taiwan earthquake. Tsai Ing-wen said, "Now we are returning this favor." On the other hand, the Taiwanese government sent two search and rescue teams to the disaster area.
