The ex-Chelsea and Newcastle star Christian Atsu was trapped under the wreckage of a building after two earthquakes in Türkiye that have killed more than 3,000 people.

Former Chelsea and Newcastle star Christian Atsu had trapped under the wreckage after the deadly earthquakes in Türkiye. Search and recue teams pulled out him, injured from the wreckage of a building.

31 years old Ghana futboller who plays for Turkish side Hatayspor, was trapped under rubble in the province of Hatay close to the Syrian border. The two earthquakes had killed more than 3,000 people and injured more than 22,000 in Türkiye.

Atsu’s manager Mustafa Özat spoke about his situation. He told to Turkish radio channel Radyo Gol: “Christian Atsu was removed from the wreckage with injuries."

Özat added: “Hatay was deeply affected. We are coming towards the end of the most dangerous hours.”
