Famous coach Marcelo Bielsa, who has not coached a team since leaving Leeds United, has taken charge of the Uruguay national team. Uruguay Football Federation officially announced that they have agreed with 67-year-old Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa for the national team coaching.

The Uruguayan Football Federation announced that Marcelo Bielsa has been appointed as the national team coach.

In the post made on the Twitter account of the Uruguayan Football Federation, it was stated that Bielsa will be in charge of Uruguay until June 2026. Marcelo Bielsa will be presented to the fans at the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay on Wednesday.

HE WAS FIRED FROM LEEDS UNITED

Bielsa, who most recently coached English Premier League side Leeds United, has worked at Newell's Old Boys, Atlas, CF America, Velez, Espanyol, Argentina, Chile, Athletic Bilbao, Marseille and Lille.

Bielsa's first goal is to make Uruguay Copa America champions.
