Playing in Phoenix Mercury, one of the American Women's Basketball League (WNBA) teams, basketball player Diana Taurasi broke the record as the first player to pass the 10 thousand point threshold in the history of the league.

In the match where Phoenix Mercury defeated Atlanta Dream with a score of 91-71 at home, Diana Taurasi became the most valuable player with her 42-point performance, while gaining an important role in the victory, she also blazed the trail.

After her performance in this match, Taurasi became the first WNBA player to pass the 10 thousand point threshold (10 thousand 24) in the league. The 41-year-old basketball player also became the oldest league player to exceed the 40-point threshold in a game.

The successful basketball player was the champion three times in her career and was named the most valuable female player of the WNBA Finals twice.

After the match, Taurasi made a press release.

“I feel great. Sometimes you get lucky and every ball you throw earns you points. That was it for me today,” she said.

In the past years, Taurasi played for Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, one of the biggest teams in Türkiye.
