Aysu Turkoglu, who became the youngest Turk to swim the English Channel between England and France in 16 hours 28 minutes, managed to swim the 40-kilometer North Channel in 11 hours 48 minutes 19 seconds.
The young swimmer started swimming from Bangor in Northern Ireland at 05.45 local time and was accompanied by dolphins.
Turkoglu aims to break the Guinness record by completing the "7 Oceans" canals within 5 years after the North Channel crossing.
