The Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team, which achieved a first in its history by becoming the champion in the FIVB Nations League and ranked first in the ranking of countries, wants to win the gold medal in the European Championship.
The Turkish National Women’s Volleyball Team aka "Sultans of Net", who won the gold medal by defeating China in the final of the FIVB Nations League in Arlington, Texas, USA, succeeded in taking Türkiye to the first step in the ranking of countries for the first time in the history of volleyball. Now, they will participate in CEV Women's European Volleyball Championship 2023.
The team will play its first match in the group stage of the CEV Women's European Volleyball Championship against Sweden in Germany.
In the organization, which was organized for the first time in 2018 as the League of Nations, Türkiye ranked second in the first year, fourth in 2019 and 2022, and third in 2021.
The National Women's Volleyball Team, which achieved a first by becoming the champion in the Nations League, will take to the parquet for double happiness in the European Championship.
The national team won silver medals at the European Championships in 2003 and 2019, and bronze medals in 2011, 2017, and 2021.
SANTERELLI'S SUCCESS
Italian head coach Daniele Santarelli, who was announced as the head of the A National Women's Volleyball Team on December 27, 2022, made his debut with the South Korea match played in the first week of the FIVB Nations League in Türkiye’s Antalya.
