Turkish National Volleyball Team reaches quarter-finals by defeating Belgium
Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team qualified for the quarter-finals of EuroVolley 2023 by defeating Belgium 3-1. The opponent of the Turkish team in the quarter-finals will be Poland.
Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team aka "Sultans of the Net" defeated hosts Belgium3-1 at the 2023 CEV European Championship (EuroVolley) and advanced to the quarter-finals.
In the match where Melissa Vargas and Ebrar Karakurt scored the winning points, the national team won the first quarter 25-22. Belgium made good use of Pauline Martin and Marlies Janssens and won the second set 25-16. Turkish team, which dominated the match again, especially with Vargas' blocks, brought the situation to 2-1 with a 25-15 third-set victory.

Melissa Vargas scored 27 points, Ebrar Karakurt 20 points, Hande Baladin 14 points, while Karakurt had 2 aces, Baladin and Zehra Gunes had one ace each. Turkish Volleyball Federation President Akif Ustundag also watched the match and many Turks living in and around Brussels supported the Turkish team.
Sultans of the Net will face Poland in the quarter-finals on August 30, at 6 p.m.(Türkiye's time zone).
