Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team aka "Sultans of the Net" defeated hosts Belgium3-1 at the 2023 CEV European Championship (EuroVolley) and advanced to the quarter-finals.
In the match where Melissa Vargas and Ebrar Karakurt scored the winning points, the national team won the first quarter 25-22. Belgium made good use of Pauline Martin and Marlies Janssens and won the second set 25-16. Turkish team, which dominated the match again, especially with Vargas' blocks, brought the situation to 2-1 with a 25-15 third-set victory.

After winning the fourth set 32-30, the Turkish team won the match 3-1 and won its sixth match in the tournament. Melissa Vargas scored 27 points, Ebrar Karakurt 20 points, Hande Baladin 14 points, while Karakurt had 2 aces, Baladin and Zehra Gunes had one ace each. Turkish Volleyball Federation President Akif Ustundag also watched the match and many Turks living in and around Brussels supported the Turkish team.
Sultans of the Net will face Poland in the quarter-finals on August 30, at 6 p.m.(Türkiye's time zone).
