In the men's singles final of the US Open tennis tournament held in New York City, world number 2 Serbian Novak Djokovic and world number 3 Russian Daniil Medvedev met at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

The 36-year-old Djokovic, who showed a superior performance compared to his opponent from start to finish, won the competition 3-0 with sets of 6-3, 7-6, and 6-3 in 3 hours and 16 minutes.

DJOKOVIC'S 24TH GRAND SLAM VICTORY

Djokovic, who won the US Open's champion title for the fourth time after 2011, 2015, and 2018, broke the record for the most grand slam winners of all time in the Open era by reaching the 24th trophy. The Serbian tennis player also shared the record for the most grand slam winners by catching Australian Margaret Court. Medvedev, on the other hand, failed to reach his goal of a second title in the tournament after 2021.

"To go down in the history of this sport is a very special situation that leaves a mark. I never imagined that I would be here to give a speech on 24 grand slams, I never thought it would be real,” Djokovic said at the award ceremony after the match.
