Rafael Nadal remains the most popular tennis player on social media, despite being out of action since January due to injury and his arch-rival Novak Djokovic of Serbia winning the US Open for his 24th grand slam title.

Reaching 20 million followers on Instagram, 37-year-old Nadal broke the record of the first tennis player to reach this figure on social media platforms.

Nadal has 14 million followers on Facebook and 15.6 million followers on X, formerly Twitter. Despite his recent success on the courts, Djokovic has 13.8 million followers on Instagram, 10 on Facebook, and 9.2 million on X.

Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, who retired in 2022, remains among the most popular names in tennis with 12 million followers on Instagram, 18 on Facebook, and 12.7 million on X.
