Racism scandal in Romania-Kosovo match in EURO 2024

There was a racism scandal in the 2024 European Football Championship Group Qualifying match between Romania and Kosovo. The game was stopped when "Kosovo is Serbia" banners were unfurled in the stands.

On the last day of the 6th week of the EURO 2024 Qualifiers, matches were played in groups A, C, F, and I.

The Romania-Kosovo match in Group I was suspended due to separatist banners and chants in the stands.

After a banner reading "Kosovo is Serbia" and separatist chants in the Romanian stands, the players of both teams went to the dressing room in the 20th minute.

VEDAT MURIC RED CARDED

Romania won 2-0 with the goals of Nicolae Stanciu in the 83rd minute and Valentin Mihaila in the 90+3rd minute.

Türkiye’s Besiktas' Milot Rashica started for the Kosovo National Team, while former Fenerbahce player Vedat Muric was shown a red card in the 42nd minute.
