The 40-year-old Portuguese defender Pepe, who once played for Besiktas, one of Turkiye's leading football teams, became the oldest player in UEFA Champions League history to score a goal in Porto's home match against Antwerp.

In the match where Portuguese representative Porto defeated Belgian team Antwerp 2-0 in the 4th week of UEFA Champions League Group H, Pepe, who is 40 years and 254 days old, scored the second goal of his team in the 90+1th minute and became the first player over the age of 40 to score a goal in the organization.

Before this goal, Italian striker Francesco Totti held the record for the oldest player to score a goal in the Champions League with 38 years and 59 days.
