Europe spends 948,8 million euros for football transfers
European football clubs spent 948.8 million euros for most expensive 50 football players since July 1, 2013-2014 transfer season despite the economic crisis.
Paris Saint Germain (PSG) football club transferred Uruguay's striker Edinson Cavani for 64.5 million euros, Monaco transferred the Colombian goal scorer Radamel Falcao for 60 million euros and FC Barcelona transferred Brazilian Neymar for 57 million euros, German website Transfermarkt's data stated. These transfers were only 3 out of 50 most expensive football transfers, worth of 948.8 million euros of Football League 1's 2013-2014 season. PSG, presided by Qatari businessman Nasr al-Halifi, Manchester City, whose shares were bought by United Arab Emirates' businessman Sheih Mansour ben Zayed al Nahian and Monaco, which belongs to Russian businessman Dmitriy Ribolovlev, transferred the star players to their clubs. They paid 422.4 million euros for the most expensive 10 football players. Since the transfer period started, Monaco spent 144 million euros. It bought Falcao for 60 million euros, James Rodriguez for 45 million euros, Joao Moutinho for 25 million euros, Jeremy Toulalan and Anthony Martial for 5 million euros each and Nicolas Isimat-Mirin for 4 million euros. Falcao and Rodriguez were the most expensive transfers of 2013-2014 season.
