Twitter is down worldwide today. Users who thought there was a problem reported the situation with posts from other social media accounts. After the access was opened hours later, Elon Musk's statement from his account cleared the question marks on the subject.

The Twitter team made some changes on the social media platform and imposed restrictions for all users. The statements made by the famous businessman encourage every user to become a Blue member.

ELON MUSK CALLED THE RESTRICTIONS 'TEMPORARY'

Twitter boss Musk said in a statement that they have made several limitations to address excessive levels of data scraping and system manipulation. He also stated that these limitations will be temporary. The Twitter limitations announced by Elon Musk are as follows:

  • Verified accounts will only be able to read 6000 posts per day
  • Unverified accounts will only be able to read 600 posts per day
  • Unverified and new accounts will only be able to read 300 posts per day

The Twitter owner has not announced how long these restrictions will last. Therefore, for now, it is known that this will continue until a second statement. It is estimated that Elon Musk made this limitation to encourage users to subscribe to Blue.

On the other hand, Musk also introduced another limitation today. People without a Twitter account will no longer be able to see tweets shared with third-party applications. In other words, it will be necessary to take a screenshot to send a tweet to someone outside of Twitter. The Twitter boss brought this innovation for people without an account to use Twitter.
