Türkiye was shaken by the earthquakes that took place in Kahramanmaras on February 6th. While the 7.7 earthquake that took place at 04:17 caused great destruction, the 7.6 earthquake that took place a few days later multiplied the balance sheet. The disaster caused great destruction in Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Malatya and Hatay, while thousands of buildings were destroyed, the number of injured and casualties continues to increase.

Vice President Fuat Oktay announced the painful balance of the earthquakes of 7.7 and 7.6. Noting that 29,605 people lost their lives and 147,934 people get injured in Türkiye, Oktay said, "Identification and burial procedures of our brothers who lost their lives continue at full speed."
