Türkiye's first space travelers announced

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced Türkiye's first passengers to go into space at TEKNOFEST. Air Pilot Alper Gezer Avcı and Tuva Cihangir Atasever will be the first Turks to go into space. Stating that space travel is planned for the last quarter of 2023, President Erdogan said, "13 different experiments prepared by universities and research institutions will be carried out."

'THEY WILL STAY 14 DAYS'

"Our friend, who will go on Türkiye's first manned space mission, will stay on the international space station for 14 days. Our space passenger will perform 13 different experiments prepared by our country's valuable universities and research institutions in this mission."

'THEY ARE PLANNED TO GO IN THE LAST QUARTER OF 2023'

"The meeting time of our space traveler with space is planned as the last quarter of 2023. Our brother Alper Gezeravcı, who will go to the international space station, is a heroic Turkish pilot who has achieved significant success in our Air Force Command. Our brother (spare space passenger) Tuva Cihangir Atasever is also a systems engineer working in the field of space launch systems at Roketsan."
