Ukraine's Defense Ministry believes that Russia may have been behind the explosion in the Turkish port on August 7.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Defense Ministry's Main Directorate of Intelligence, put forward this idea on television, stressing that all information must be verified.
"But it is absolutely necessary to study and investigate the involvement of Putin's Russia in these events," Yusov said, noting the strangeness of the situation.
Noting Türkiye's active role in the Grain Initiative, the intelligence representative said the incident could not be a coincidence.
The explosion occurred before Russian President Vladimir Putin's trip, which is expected to take place in August.
On August 7, a loud explosion was heard during the unloading of a ship at the Turkish port of Derince on the Sea of Marmara. Authorities said it could have been a "detonation of grain dust".
Seddar Yavuz, the governor of Kocaeli city, where the port is located, said 13 grain elevators were damaged and 10 people were injured in the explosion.
