Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya announced Thursday that the international criminal organization called "Comanchero," headquartered in Australia and operating globally, led by Hakan Ayık, was brought down.
Yerlikaya said that an operation was carried out against the international armed organized crime group Comanchero in Türkiye's Istanbul. During the operation, 37 suspects, including Hakan Ayik and Duax Hohepa Ngakuru, who took over the management after the so-called leader of the organization, Mark Douglas Buddle, was captured last year, have been detained. The duo were wanted with a red notice.
In line with reports from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), assets worth 4.5 billion liras belonging to 55 suspects were seized by court decision. The charges against the suspects are as follows: establishing an organization to commit crimes, being a member of an established organization, international drug trafficking, and laundering assets obtained from crime.
