Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkiye, is being commemorated all over the country on the 85th anniversary of his death. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the accompanying dignitaries visited Anitkabir in the capital Ankara, where Ataturk's mausoleum is located.  The dignitaries led by Erdogan walked from the Lion Road to Anitkabir.

'TURKIYE TO REACH CENTENARY GOALS'

"Dear Ataturk, on the 85th anniversary of your death, we remember you, your comrades in arms, our heroic martyrs and veterans who fell martyrs for our homeland with mercy.We are working with passion today, as we have been for 21 years, to make our Republic, which we started its 2nd century with the vision of the Century of Turkiye, eternally lasting and victorious,” President Erdogan said while signing the special book of Anitkabir.

We continue to glorify the Republic of Turkiye in every field. No power will be able to prevent Turkiye's rise and our nation from reaching its centenary goals. May your soul rest in peace," he added.

The state dignitaries headed by President Erdogan included Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Numan Kurtulmus, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz,  Republican People’s Party Chairperson Ozgur Ozel, Nationalist Movement Party Chairperson Devlet Bahceli, Good Party (IP) Chairman Meral Aksener, ministers, members of the high judiciary and command staff.
