'Deadly Feb.6 quakes': Ebrar site in Kahramanmaras set to become memorial museum
On the anniversary of Türkiye's deadly earthquakes, the government Tuesday decided to change the Ebrar Site in Kahramanmaras to a symbolic memorial museum.

Some eight out of 28 blocks in the Ebrar Site – which endured massive destruction during the earthquake – were demolished. Following the deadly quakes, Kahramanmaras Metropolitan Municipality is gearing up to take a significant step to keep the memory of the earthquake alive and to commemorate the precious lives lost during the catastrophe.

The single-story museum will bring together the residents of the city and future generations to feel the profound impact of the earthquake.

One of the prominent features of the museum is that it will be decorated with symbols symbolizing "Feb. 6" and "4: 17 a.m."– the date and time of the earthquake. These details will make visitors feel the atmosphere of the moment the quake hit more deeply.

The names, photographs, and belongings of those who succumbed to the quake will be exhibited in the museum so that the losses caused by the earthquake will not be forgotten.

The authorities will renovate a few parts of the museum damaged during the catastrophic earthquake.
