TIKA provides Ramadan aid to Muslim community in El Salvador

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has initiated food aid efforts in El Salvador, a Central American country, as part of its "Ramadan Program."

In a compassionate gesture, TIKA distributed food packages to the Muslim community, catering to 200 families in San Salvador's capital city.

The aid comprised essential food items such as rice, oil, and flour, totaling 1 ton, ensuring sustenance for iftar meals.

Notably, the beneficiaries included students of a primary school affiliated with the El Salvador Islamic Union.

Key figures attended the distribution event, including Türkiye's Ambassador to San Salvador, Gul Buyukersen and Emerson Bukele, brother of El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele.

Expressing gratitude, Bukele lauded TIKA's efforts and extended appreciation to Türkiye for their support, reflecting the sentiments of the Muslim community in El Salvador.

Moreover, TIKA's humanitarian endeavors extend beyond El Salvador.

Throughout the sacred month of Ramadan, the agency plans to extend similar food support to 200 families in Mexico.

It aims to distribute Ramadan packages containing stationery materials to 100 children via its office in Mexico.

TIKA's assistance efforts will also include other countries in the region, including the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, and Panama.

Furthermore, plans are underway to organize iftar programs for the Muslim minority and households facing hardship in the Cuban capital of Havana.
