A helping hand from Mexico for the earthquake: A team of 145 people was sent

After the earthquake in Kahramanmaras, a team was sent from Mexico to Türkiye to help. On the orders of President Obrador, a search and rescue team of 145 people was sent. He said, "We are about to board a Mexican Air Force plane with 93 personnel from the Ministry of Defense, 37 from the Navy, and 15 from the Red Cross in order to help our brothers in Türkiye."

In his statement at the airport, Director General of the European Department of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bernardo Aguilar Calvo said, "We are about to board a Mexican Air Force plane, with 93 personnel from the Ministry of Defense, 37 from the Navy, 15 from the Red Cross personnel, in order to help our brothers in Türkiye. Our purpose is to save the highest number of people alive. We hope to arrive in Türkiye soon."

Türkiye's Ambassador to Mexico İlhan Kemal Tuğ stated that Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard sent him a message and said, "Türkiye and Mexico have always been two important strategic partners on the basis of bilateral relations. Today, we are witnessing that this partnership has gone to the next level. I thank Mexican President Lopez Obrador and Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard for their support and solidarity in the face of this difficult situation."

AID PLANES LEFT FROM MEXICO

Mexican Foreign Minister Ebrard, in his post on his Twitter account, stated that a search and rescue team will be sent to Türkiye upon the instruction of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador and said, "The Mexican Air Force plane will take off in a few hours to go to Türkiye."
