In the clashes intensifying in the cities of Uruapan and Chinicuila in the Mexican state of Michoacan, the armed elements of two hostile criminal organizations attacked each other with automatic weapons.

It was also seen that criminals burned vehicles and closed some highways to traffic during the events. While the events caused fear in the people of the region, the Mexican Army and the security forces of Michoacan State launched a joint operation.

9 CARTEL MEMBERS FOUND DEAD

Authorities reported that 15 people wearing guns and bulletproof vests were arrested in the operation carried out in various regions of the province, while 9 people died during clashes between criminal groups.

The security forces stated that during the operation, the bodies of 6 people shot and burned in a burning vehicle on a highway in Chinicuila city were found, while the bodies of 3 cartel members who died in the clashes in Uruapan were seized.

The arrested 15 cartel members were handed over to the Mexican Public Prosecutor's Office for legal action.

Many cartels operate in the state of Michoacan, including the Jalisco Next Generation Cartel, which is considered Mexico's most dangerous criminal organization.
