The famous lion in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania was killed by his young rivals after his 7-year reign. Known as the "King of the Serengeti", the lion Snyggve was also called Bob Junior, after the famous singer Bob Marley.
The photogenic lion was giving magnificent poses to those who came for the tour. For this reason, many condolence messages were published on social media by tour operators and visitors following the news of his death.
His brother Tryggve is also believed to have been killed. Park officials plan to hold a private burial for the brothers.
Adult male lions have a lifespan of 8-10 years in the wild. The Serengeti is home to about three thousand lions.
