'Türkiye is in a difficult situation, let's occupy Istanbul'

Armenian-origin Russian politician Semyon Bagdasarov, who is frequently on the agenda with his scandalous statements about Türkiye, once again made an endless outburst and made him give up. Bagdasarov, who had previously called on Armenians to support Imamoglu, Aksener and Kilicdaroglu against President Erdogan in the 2023 elections, now called for an invasion of Türkiye.

Thinking that Türkiye was in a difficult situation due to the February 6 earthquakes, Semyon Bagdasarov called on the Russian administrators and soldiers. Showing Türkiye's current situation as an opportunity, the Russian deputy made arrogant words and claimed that Istanbul "historically belongs to Russia" and should be taken back.

Making statements on the program of Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, Bagdasarov said, “Türkiye is in a difficult situation right now, let's use it. Let's drive it out of Central Asia, let's undermine its population in Ukraine. Let's kick it out of the South Caucasus. Let's remove certain forces in Türkiye and take back what is historically 'ours'. Constantinople (Istanbul)! Let's plant a cross on Hagia Sophia!”

The date when Semyon Bagdasarov made these statements did not escape attention. Bagdasarov's words on the anniversary of the invasion of Crimea on March 18, 2014 were perceived as a message to the Russian authorities.
