70-year-old Pakistani woman brought aid to the earthquake area

Abide Khan, 70, a British citizen of Pakistani origin, went to the provinces of Adana, Hatay and Gaziantep, which was hit by the earthquake on February 6, and delivered the aid she collected for earthquake victims.

One of the people who took action immediately after the Kahramanmaras-centered earthquakes in Türkiye was Abide Khan, a 70-year-old British citizen of Pakistani origin. Despite his advanced age, Khan, who wants to deliver the aid she has collected by personally going to the earthquake area. She visited Adana, Hatay and Gaziantep and shared the suffering of the earthquake victims.

Abide Khan, who volunteered for a charity in England, talked about her feelings and experiences about the earthquake at her home in the capital, London.

Expressing that she went to Türkiye by saying, “Can I be of any help?” the British citizen woman said, “Even though I did not have much financial resources, I had experience in the field of medical therapy to donate. With the donations of me, my friends and family, I went there and visited the three cities in the epicenter of the earthquake, Hatay, Adana, Gaziantep and other cities. I went to the tents there, asking people if they had anxiety complaints, if they were in pain. Thanks to my therapy, many people have been relieved of their complaints and this has made me very happy.”

'I COULD NOT SIT AT HOME AND REST'

Abide Khan said what happened was very bad and added, "I couldn't sit at home and rest." Acting on this, Khan stated that she formed a team thanks to the many support she received.

Stating that she had difficulty in describing what she saw in the earthquake area, the Pakistani-born benefactor expressed his experiences as follows:

“I came here, people do not know exactly what is happening in Türkiye. If you scream, no one will hear. Everywhere was flat. No home, no business. The people in the tent were traumatized.”

Stating that there is still a need for help in Türkiye, Khan said that he will be in the earthquake zone during the holiday while calling for help.
