Death toll in conflict in Sudan rises to 528

The conflict that started between the army and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan on April 15 are still continuing.

According to the statement made by the Sudanese Ministry of Health, 528 people lost their lives in the clashes and 4,599 people were injured.

In the statement, it was stated that the number of centers providing health services in the capital Khartoum was increased and communication with hospitals was strengthened.

The Ministry also stated that it is in cooperation with friendly countries, international and regional organizations to provide medical support to people in emergency.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 15, clashes broke out in Sudan between the army led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, and the RSF led by the council's vice president, General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.

Al-Burhan states that the RSF, which was established to fight the rebels, should join the army in order to prevent it from acting as an independent force, while Dagalo, the head of the RSF, argues that this should be done with a civilian administration.
