The lions were killed after attacking goats and a dog in villages near Amboseli National Park, the Kenya Wildlife Service said in a statement. "Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident because four other lions were killed last week," the statement said.
Noting that the public had complained that lions and other carnivores were killing livestock and domestic animals, the authorities said that local people were being consulted to try to find a solution to the recurring conflicts between animals and humans.
Amboseli National Park, which is 39,206 hectares in size, is home to some of the most valuable game such as elephant, cheetah, buffalo and giraffe.
