Subway services were disrupted in Mexico City due to a chicken entering the tracks. While it is not known how the chicken entered the rails, authorities said it could belong to a passenger.

In Mexico City, the capital of Mexico, subway services were disrupted due to a chicken entering the rails at a subway station. 

While the metro staff cut the electricity to catch the chicken on the tracks, the staff caught the chicken after a short chase, Ihlas News Agency reported.

In a statement released by the Mexico City Metro Administration, citizens were advised to take care of their belongings that may fall on the tracks and to carry their pets in cages.

While it is not known how the chicken got on the tracks, officials said it belonged to a passenger and may have escaped and fallen on the tracks. 

Subway services resumed after the chicken was rescued.
