In a statement made by the Spanish Ministry of Defense, a ceremony was held at the air base in the city of Zaragoza in the Aragona region in the northwest of Spain with the participation of soldiers' families.
During the demonstration of fighter jets at the ceremony, an F-18 crashed on a highway.
The pilot was in good condition and hospitalized, the statement said, adding that the pilot ejected himself from the plane at the time of the fall.
In the footage reflected on amateur cameras, it was seen that the F-18 fighter jet that fell on the highway turned into a ball of flames.
