Two separate attacks were organized by unknown assailants in Burkina Faso over the weekend.
It was announced that 20 volunteer soldiers were killed in the attack organized in Bourasso department of Kossi province near the Mali border on Saturday, and 20 people were killed in the same region on Sunday.
In the incident, dozens of attackers were neutralized by air operations, Ihlas News Agency.
Burkina Faso Prime Minister Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem De Tambele said in his speech in parliament that the government would never negotiate with the attackers.
Al-Qaeda and ISIS-linked terrorist organizations have been carrying out attacks in Burkina Faso since 2015.
Twelve people were killed in an attack near the Mali border on May 18.
In the town of Ouahigouya in the north of the country, at least 60 civilians were killed in an attack on a village by people in military uniform on April 20.
