According to Anadolu, Greek Chief of General Staff Konstantinos Floros has ordered the construction of a temporary fence on the border with Türkiye amid claims that the number of irregular migrants entering the country has increased in recent days. The news appeared in the Greek press.

It is stated that the temporary fence will be 100 meters long.

In recent days in Greece, it was claimed that Türkiye was "allowing" irregular migrants to cross illegally and it was stated that the allegations did not reflect the truth.

In.gr news portal, citing unnamed government officials and military sources, emphasized that the Athens government has no evidence to prove the allegations that Türkiye allows irregular migrants to cross the Evros and the Aegean.

The news report noted that the sources used the expression "business as usual" regarding the situation in Evros and explained that the increase in the number of irregular migrants crossing into Greece was due to the decrease in the water level in the Evros River due to seasonal reasons.
