A fire broke out on a diving boat named "Hurricane" off the coast of Marsa Alam on the Red Sea coast of Egypt. 26 people, including 12 British, were rescued from the boat. 3 British tourists were dead.
The owner of the boat Tornado Marine Fleet "There were 15 British, 12 crew and 2 guides. We left Port Ghalib on June 6 and were due back today. The fire broke out at 06.30," he said.
While the tourists, whose identities were not disclosed, were searched by diving police, the prosecutor's office opened an investigation into the incident. Initial investigations reported that a short circuit was detected in the engine room of the boat.
