It was announced that US President Joe Biden will not be able to attend a previously announced program at the White House for dental treatment. The White House shared the report of Biden's doctor Kevin O'Connor about his dental treatment with the public.
O'Connor stated that Biden's lower right tooth ached yesterday and that White House dentists deemed root canal treatment appropriate after the examination. Noting that the first intervention was made to Biden's tooth, O'Connor shared the information that there were no complications.
O'Connor stated that the discomfort in Biden's tooth increased this morning as expected, and that the root canal treatment will be completed at the White House today.
According to the information note shared by the White House, Biden will not receive general anesthesia for this procedure and therefore his powers will not be transferred to Vice President Kamala Harris.
The White House announced that Vice President Harris will attend the program, which will host the champions of the American College Sports Federation (NCAA) for College Athletes Day at 11:30 AM local time today, instead of Biden.
Biden is expected to host NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg at the White House today at 03:15 PM local time.
