The tension between Serbia and Kosovo has been increasing for days. Following the detention of 3 Kosovo police officers by Serbian police officers last week, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti banned Serbian products from entering Kosovo.

Last night, Serbian demonstrators blocked the Merdare, Jarinje and Brnjak border gates connecting Kosovo and Serbia with barricades.

WARNING FROM KOSOVO FOREIGN MINISTRY

Kosovo's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that it is not safe for buses, trucks and cars to cross the 3 border crossings due to ongoing Serb protests in the northern regions.

The Ministry advised the public to use the other two border crossings in northern Kosovo, Mutivode and Dheu i Bardh, and to ensure their passage through Northern Macedonia.
