The number of people who lost their lives due to the heat wave that has been effective in Mexico in recent weeks has risen to 112.

The death toll due to the extreme heat that continues to affect Mexico is increasing. According to the statement made by the Ministry of Health, the number of people who died as a result of the air temperature approaching 50 degrees Celsius in some parts of the country increased to 112. 

Most of the deaths occurred between June 18-24, while others occurred in the previous weeks. The highest number of deaths was recorded in the northern state of Nuevo Leon with 64. Tamaulipas and Veracruz recorded 19 and 15 deaths, respectively.

According to Mexico's National Meteorological Service (SMN), 3 of the 4 heat waves predicted for this year are behind. It was reported that the first heat wave was effective between April 1-10, the second heat wave between May 3-12 and the third heat wave between June 1-22.
