According to the statement made by the Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), a 6.4 magnitude earthquake occurred on the Java Island of Indonesia at around 19.58 local time. While the earthquake was recorded at a depth of 25 kilometers, the epicenter was off the coast of Bantul town in Yogyakarta Special Region.
It was reported that dozens of houses, offices, health and education centers were slightly damaged in Yogyakarta region and Central Java province.
It was also reported that 1 person lost his life and 9 people were injured. During the earthquake reflected on security cameras, it was seen that the people fled in panic with the tremor.
No tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake.
