It was announced that 15 people died and 19 people were missing after a passenger boat capsized off the coast of Sulawesi Island in Indonesia.
Authorities announced that the boat capsized due to carrying more passengers than its capacity.
Muhammad Arafah, head of the local search and rescue agency, said the boat capsized just after midnight and was traveling from Lanto village to Lagili village in Buton Central district, southeast Sulawesi.
Stating that the passenger boat capsized because it was carrying more passengers than its capacity, Arafah said that 15 people on the boat died and 19 people were missing.
Arafah said that rescue teams have rescued 6 people so far, while the search for 19 missing people continues.
It was stated that 40 people were on the wooden boat with a capacity of 20 people.
