In Pakistan, 22 people were killed when a passenger train traveling from Karachi to Rawalpindi derailed.

100 PEOPLE INJURED

According to Ihlas News Agency, a passenger train traveling between Karachi-Rawalpindi derailed in Pakistan. It was stated that 22 people lost their lives and 100 injured people were taken under treatment in the surrounding hospitals in the accident that occurred as a result of derailment of many wagons in Hazara Express near Sarhari Train Station in Nawabshah city of Sindh province.

EMERGENCY DECLARED IN SURROUNDING HOSPITALS

Following the accident, a state of emergency was declared in the surrounding hospitals. Divisional Inspector of Railways Sukkur Mahmoodur Rahman confirmed that 10 wagons derailed in the train accident, adding that a train from Loco Shed Rohri Railway Company had arrived at the scene to carry out relief activities. Rescue teams and police were dispatched to the scene after the accident, while an investigation into the accident was launched.
