There was an eruption at the Etna Volcano in southern Italy. An eruption occurred last night at the Etna Volcano on Italy's Sicily Island. The explosion meant a "preliminary warning" and the warning level for the volcano was raised by one level, Italian sources reported.
Following the explosion, flights at Catania Airport in Sicily were temporarily suspended, according to the Italian Ansa news agency.
In addition to this, Catania Airport was closed to all flights until 01.00 p.m. local time.
