US warns its citizens to leave Belarus urgently
The US Embassy in Minsk has announced that US citizens in Belarus should leave the country immediately and noted that the US Embassy in Minsk can provide limited assistance to US citizens in the country.
The United States (US) Embassy in Belarus' capital, Minsk, announced that Lithuania has closed some border crossings with Belarus and that US citizens in Belarus should leave the country.
LITHUANIA CLOSES BORDER WITH BELARUS
In a written statement from the US Embassy in Minsk, it was reminded that Lithuania decided to close some border crossings with Belarus.
The statement pointed out that other neighboring countries of Belarus may take similar decisions.
"The governments of Poland, Lithuania, and Latvia have indicated that further border closures with Belarus are possible. US citizens in Belarus should leave the country immediately," the statement said.
ASSISTANCE TO BE LIMITED
The statement also warned US citizens not to travel to Belarus, noting that the US Embassy in Minsk can provide limited assistance to US citizens in the country.
