Global support for Türkiye following terrorist attack in capital Ankara

GERMANY

Germanycondemned the terrorist attack attempt in Ankara with a message in Turkish and shared a message of solidarity. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made a statement in Turkish and German on his social media account.

"We strongly condemn the attack in the center of Ankara! We stand in solidarity with our Turkish partners," Scholz said.

EUROPEAN UNION

European Union (EU)Council President Charles Michel, in a statement on the social media platform X,

"I am shocked by the terrorist attack in Ankara," Michel said.

Michel stated that he strongly condemned the attack's attempt to inflict wounds on the Turkish people.

EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell reiterated the Union's condemnation of the attack and 

"We express our solidarity with Turkey and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded," Borrell said.

EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi wished the injured police officers a speedy recovery.

"We support Türkiye in its fight against terrorism," Varhelyi said.

SWEDEN

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson stated that his country strongly condemned the attack attempt and 

"We reaffirm our commitment to long-term cooperation with Turkey in the fight against terrorism and wish the injured to recover quickly and completely," Kristersson said.

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström also stated that he was appalled by the attempted attack and emphasized his country's determination to partner with Turkey in all aspects of the fight against terrorism.

ITALY

Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani

"I have been following the news from Ankara with great attention. The Italian government strongly condemns all forms of terrorism and expresses its full solidarity with Türkiye," Tajani said. 

Meanwhile, the Italian Embassy in Ankara urged its citizens to be careful and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

KOSOVO

"Saddened to hear about the terrorist attack in Ankara, Türkiye, but relieved to learn that the intended damage was largely averted by Turkish institutions,” Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurtisaid.

Kosovo’s Foreign Ministry also condemned the terror attack, saying it stands in full solidarity with Türkiye and rejects any form of terrorist violence.

TRNC

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar and Prime Minister Unal Ustel condemned the terrorist attack in Ankara. President Tatar and Prime Minister Ustel issued separate messages due to the terrorist attack that took place in front of the entrance gate of the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Security in Ankara.

"I wish a speedy recovery to the members of the security forces who were injured in the treacherous terrorist attack that occurred this morning in front of the entrance gate of the Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Security in the motherland Republic of Türkiye, and I strongly condemn the attack," Tatar said.

TRNC Prime Minister Ustel also published a message and emphasized the situation.

"I wish a speedy recovery to the members of the security forces who were injured in the treacherous terrorist attack that occurred today in the morning hours in front of the entrance gate of the Ministry of Interior, General Directorate of Security in the Republic of Türkiye and I strongly condemn this dastardly attack," Ustel highlighted.

EGYPT

Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a written statement on the official Facebook page of the ministry regarding the attempted terrorist attack in Ankara. The statement said that Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack in front of the Ministry of Interior in Ankara.

The statement expressed Egypt's full solidarity with brotherly Türkiye, its government, and its people, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack. The statement also emphasised that Egypt reaffirms its firm position rejecting all forms of terrorism and violence that lead to instability and intimidation of citizens.

JORDAN

Jordan condemned the attempted terrorist attack in Ankara and expressed solidarity with brotherly Türkiye. The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement on the terrorist attack in Ankara on the social media platform X.

"Jordan condemns the terrorist attack in front of the Ministry of Interior in Ankara and expresses its full solidarity with brotherly Türkiye," the statement said.
