The United States will provide Ukraine with new military assistance worth $ 100 million, United States Defense (Pentagon) Secretary Lloyd Austin said at a press conference on Monday during a visit to Ukraine.
"Today, I announced $100 million in new aid to Ukraine," stated Austin, specifying that this aid will be sourced from the Pentagon's military assets.
The package encompasses ammunition for artillery, air defense, and anti-tank vehicles.
During his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Austin assured that the U.S. military assistance commitment to Ukraine remains unchanged.
Emphasizing Ukraine's capability to "fight in the winter and achieve success," the Pentagon chief underscored the comprehensive support provided.
Additionally, the Pentagon revealed that the new $100 million military aid package includes an extra HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) multiple rocket launcher system for Ukraine.
The package further comprises Stinger missiles, 155 and 105 mm artillery shells, Javelin anti-tank systems, and a minimum of 3 million rifle rounds. With this, to bolster Ukraine's preparedness for winter warfare, the assistance will also include essential equipment, spare parts, and auxiliary resources.
