The Turkish Coast Guard reported Saturday that they successfully rescued 28 irregular migrants in the Aegean Sea.
According to a statement by the Turkish Coast Guard, the irregular migrants were rescued from an inflatable boat near Seferihisar in the western Izmir province.
The group of 28 irregular migrants, which included 10 children, had been forcibly returned to Turkish territorial waters by Greek authorities.
They were subsequently transferred to local immigration authorities for deportation.
Türkiye, along with various international human rights organizations, has consistently criticized Greece's illegal practice of forcibly returning asylum seekers, citing its violation of humanitarian principles and international law, particularly endangering the lives of vulnerable migrants, including women and children.
