Türkiye says it is in a phase of 'continuous operations' in counterterrorism

Ministry of National Defense has highlighted their ongoing efforts in combating terrorism through unpredictable, unconventional, rapid, and continuous operations, saying, "We are now in the phase of continuous operations."

Addressing a recent increase in the number of terrorists neutralized in northern Iraq, the sources stated, "We had previously said that this summer, the lock would be closed in northern Iraq. For this reason, we have emphasized that we will continue to combat terrorism through unpredictable, unconventional, rapid, and continuous operations. Our struggle is ongoing, as stated. We are now in the phase of continuous operations."

"Disrespecting the efforts of 60 thousand soldiers"

Responding to questions regarding border security, Ministry sources expressed concern about Türkiye's future due to refugees and clarified that nearly all the footage used by those claiming that Türkiye is worried about its future due to refugees, are advertisement images taken by human traffickers to deceive people, with unknown locations, times, and originating countries.

Highlighting the irony of sharing such footage on social media, the sources emphasized that those who believe or intentionally create an impression that every foreigner they see in the country has arrived by jumping over the border walls disrespect the efforts of the 60,000 soldiers guarding the borders.

"Just yesterday, the number of lightning strikes on our base areas was 307"

Ministry sources also commented on the recent incidents of soldiers being martyred due to lightning strikes in northern Iraq.

Emphasizing the presence of lightning rods in all base areas, the Ministry said it is taking constant precautions but it is not fully possible to cope with nature.

Touching upon the visit of the Qatari Chief of Staff to Ankara today, sources stated, "Our military training, assistance, and advisory activities continue in Qatar. Efforts are underway to include naval and air elements in the Qatar Turkish Joint Forces Command. In addition, there will be discussions on bilateral and regional defense and security issues and the further enhancement of friendly relations and more effective operation of existing mechanisms."

"(F-16) The process continues as planned"

Regarding questions about the procurement of F-16s from the U.S., the Ministry said Türkiye has forwarded a draft offer and acceptance letters to our counterparts after conducting the necessary evaluations. The process is continuing as planned.
