Türkiye warns against escalation after Israel's Iran strike

In response to Israel's retaliatory strike against Iran, Türkiye issued its first reaction, highlighting that the crisis stemmed from Israel's assault on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, as stated in the Foreign Ministry's released statement.

The ministry stressed that this assault was contrary to international law and called on the parties to avoid actions that could lead to a lasting conflict in the Middle East.

"The priority of the international community should be to stop the massacre in Gaza and to ensure lasting peace in our region by establishing a Palestinian state," the statement read.
