Turkey's CPI decreased by 0.10% in August 2013

Consumer Price Index (CPI) decreased by 0.10% in August 2013, while the highest monthly increase was 1.24% in miscellaneous goods & services.

Turkey's CPI decreased by 0.10% in August 2013

Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) published the data of consumer price index for August 2013. A decrease in general index was seen in CPI (2003=100) in August by 0.10% and rises were realised in December of the previous year by 4.21%, in August 2012 by 8.17% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 7.42% in August 2013.

- The highest monthly increase was 1.24% in miscellaneous goods & services

The indices rose for education 1.19%, for hotels, cafes and restaurants 0.76%, for transportation 0.70%, for recreation and culture 0.44%.

-The highest monthly decrease was 3.62% in clothing and footwear

The indices declined for food and non-alcoholic beverages 0.77%, for communications 0.07%, for furnishings and household equipment 0.01%.

- The highest annual increase was 16.01% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco

Food and non-alcoholic beverages (10.25%), hotels, cafes and restaurants (9.13%), transportation (8.80%), housing (7.50%) were the other main groups where high increases were realised.
