Following yesterday's Egyptian-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Palestine, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that a rocket was fired from the Gaza Strip at Ashkelon.

The IDF stated that the rocket did not cause any damage or injury, and that it landed in an empty field. The IDF said its air defense systems were not activated.

On May 9, 34 people were killed and 147 people were injured in Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip.
