A documentary produced by Anadolu Agency about the struggle of polar animals against climate change won the "Best Independent Short Film" award at the Toronto Independent Short Film Competition.

The competition, known for evaluating national and international works, was awarded in nine categories.

"The Melting World of Polar Bears" explores the challenges polar animals face due to climate change and the work of a team participating in Türkiye's 7th National Antarctic Science Expedition and 3rd National Arctic Scientific Research Expedition.

The expeditions were held under the auspices of the Turkish presidency and coordination of the Marmara Research Center (MAM) Polar Research Institute, which is a part of the Ankara-based Scientific and Technological Research Institution of Türkiye (TUBITAK).
