Turkish Arts Exhibition opens in Croatia's capital Zagreb

Turkish Arts Exhibition, featuring over 30 works of calligraphy, marbling, illumination, carving on paper or leather (kat'i), and miniature arts, was opened to visitors in collaboration with the Embassy of Türkiye in Zagreb, Zagreb Yunus Emre Institute (YEE), Croatian Islamic Union, Turkish Minority Representation of the city of Zagreb, and Uskudar Classical Turkish Arts Foundation.

The exhibition took place at the cultural center of YEE, where various calligraphy works, including the words "shahada," "Bismillah," Surahs, and verses from the Holy Quran, prayers, and hadiths, were presented to art lovers.

In addition to calligraphy, rich examples of marbling, miniature, kat'i and illumination art, which reflect the rich cultural accumulation of Ottoman civilization, especially the period of Sultan Mehmet II, were also included in the exhibition.

The Karahisari Quran, written by Ahmed Semseddin Karahisari for the Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and whose original is in Topkapi Palace, was also exhibited in the Turkish Arts Exhibition.
