It was announced that an F-16 fighter jet belonging to the US Air Force (USFK) stationed in South Korea crashed on a farmland near Osan Air Base in Pyeongtaek, south of the capital Seoul.

The pilot of the plane reportedly managed to eject himself from the plane safely.

In the statement made by the US 51st Air Fleet, it was stated that the accident occurred at around 09:45 am local time, while the pilot, who performed the flight as part of the routine training activity, managed to eject himself safely from the plane and was taken to the hospital.

A detailed investigation was launched to find out the reason for the crash of the plane, which caught fire after it crashed on agricultural land. No casualties were reported in the accident.
